I’m Juan Barriga, a Colombian Italian cinematographer based in Miami.

​

I’ve been drawn to images for as long as I can remember. What started as a fascination with filmmaking eventually became a career built around light, movement, composition, and the people I get to work with.

​

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to shoot across commercials, narrative films, documentaries, music videos, and branded content. My work has taken me from Miami and New York to Rome, Guatemala, Mozambique, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, and beyond.

​

I’ve worked with brands including Gillette, Peacock, Norwegian Cruise Line, TurboTax, T-Mobile, Puma, Budweiser, Toyota, Wells Fargo, and DJI, while also shooting documentary and narrative projects for HBO, VICE, Fusion, and Univision. I served as Director of Photography for seasons 2–4 of Fusion’s Drug Wars, and have lensed feature films that premiered at the Miami Film Festival.

For me, cinematography is about more than making an image look beautiful. It’s about understanding the story, finding the right visual language, and creating images that make people feel something. I enjoy collaborating closely with directors and creative teams to take an idea from a conversation, a reference, or a simple feeling and turn it into something tangible on screen.
